To help you decide on the hinge which is best suited to your internal door(s) consider the following:

If your door is particularly heavy, a ball bearing or T hinge may be more suitable.

If your doors are opened and closed multiple times each day, then a spring hinge may help to reduce wear and tear.

Some doors, such as fire doors, may require a specific type of hinge in order to comply with regulations.

We provide ball-bearing hinges for both heavy-duty and Fire-Rated doors, however, you'll need three hinges for each fire door.

Ensuring the right number of hinges are fitted to your door is very important, because if you only install 2 hinges when 3 are required, your door could become misaligned over time, making it difficult to open and close.

We recommend the following:

If your door measures less than 60", 2 hinges should be sufficient.

If your door measures between 60" and 90", we recommend installing 3 hinges.

For very heavy doors, 4 hinges may be required.
